RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - North Carolina's election law reform package will be before a federal judge in June. The U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals will hear an appeal June 21.

In April, U.S. District Court Judge Thomas Schroeder gave a thumbs up to the election passed in 2013. It included a photo I.D. requirement and other changes.

The NAACP is among the groups tht filed the appeal.

Critics say the law keeps minority voters from the polls.

Supporters say the law is a package of common sense reforms that puts the state in the mainstream of election law in the U.S.
