RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - With four days to go in the candidate filing period, Republican incumbent Congresswoman Renee Ellmers has already drawn two primary challengers.

Tea Party conservative Greg Brannon joined the race Monday. This is Brannon's third run at federal office. He's lost twice in the U.S. Senate primary to Richard Burr, most recently just last week.

Congressman George Holding is also running in the primary. He currently represents North Carolina's 13th district. Newly drawn district lines -- drawn to comply with a federal court order -- moved the 13th 100 miles west. Holding now lives much closer to the 2nd District.

Ellmers has drawn fire from conservative Republicans who say she has not voted as a conservative and has become too close to U.S. House leadership, which they consider the "establishment." On Monday Ellmers endorsed Donald Trump for president.
