RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Democrat Roy Cooper raised $2.9 million in the last half of 2015 according to his campaign for governor.

That's roughly $300,000 more than incumbent Republican Gov. Pat McCrory raised during the same period. The McCrory campaign reported it raised $2.6 million.

Democrat Ken Spaulding has not yet reported his numbers. Reports are due to the state Board of Elections on Friday.

On the Republican side, candidate Robert Brawley told the Associated Press "there is little to report."

Republican Charles Moss is also in the race.

The primary election is March 15.
