RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - He served as state Republican Party chairman from 1987 to 1995, and now the late Jack Hawke will be honored by Republicans at its Hall of Fame dinner in November.

A tribute to Hawke will be narrated by Gov. Pat McCrory, according to a GOP email.

Hawke was a key member of then Mayor McCrory's campaign team and continued to advise the new governor until health issues forced him to scale back his professional duties.

Hawke died in 2013.

The GOP dinner will also feature a keynote address from Sen. Richard Burr, who is seeking re-election.
