RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - In a troubling sign for his second term agenda, President Obama's disapproval rate has  hit 54 percent. Just 41 percent of Americans surveyed by Gallup say they approve of the job the president is doing.

The figures reflect a rolling two-day figure from March 10 through 12, 2014.

Meantime, just one in four Americans tell Gallup they're satisfied with the country's direction.

Democrats are the most satisfied group -- with 40 percent giving the country a positive grade. Independents are next, with 21 percent saying things are on the right track. Republicans are the least satisifed with the country's direction. Only 12 percent of Republicans are satisfied.

Analysts say the president's poor numbers could spell trouble for fellow Democrats seeking election this fall.

In North Carolina, incumbent U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan did not publicly greet the president on a recent visit to the state. Hagan is seeking re-election and faces a tough battle to retain her seat.
