RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - The group that advises the governor on expanding the impact of the state's military installations will welcome a retired Army colonel to its ranks.

Col. Kirk Warner will take a seat on the North Carolina Military Affairs Commission, having retired three years ago after a three-decade career in the U.S. Army. His last assignment was as the Commander of the 134th Legal Operations Detachment at Fort Bragg. Col. Warner previously served as Deputy Legal Counsel to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon for three separate Chairmen.

Also joining the advisory board is Etteinne Mitchell, a retired Naval Intelligence Officer. She was assigned to military bases in eight states, as well as two overseas. She also served out of the country.

Gov. Pat McCrory made the appointments this week.
