RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Former Raleigh mayor Paul Coble has been tapped by legislative leaders to run the day-to-day operations of the General Assembly.
Coble will serve as the body's Legislative Services Officer, according to a statement from House Speaker Tim Moore and Senate Leader Phil Berger.
Coble is a native of Raleigh. He also served as chairman of the Wake County Board of Commissioners before losing his seat when Democrats swept the commission in 2014.
“Mr. Coble is a proven leader, and will bring a high level of professionalism to the General Assembly,” said Speaker Moore and Senate Leader Berger in the joint statement.
