RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Gov. Pat McCrory has announced appointments to a variety of state boards and commissions. The appointments are of varying lengths and subject areas. They are:

North Carolina State Board of Certified Public Accountant Examiners
Murchison “Bo” Biggs (Robeson County) – Biggs serves as chief financial officer, comptroller and secretary-treasurer of K.M. Biggs, Inc. (farming and retail sales of farm equipment) in Lumberton.

The board is responsible for granting and annually renewing certificates of qualification to CPAs and CPA firms who meet the legal requirements. The term length is three years.  
 

North Carolina Geographic Information Coordinating Council
Hunter Robinson (Wake County) – Robinson is the chief information officer for the N.C. Office of the State Auditor. This is a reappointment to the council.  

The council develops policies regarding the utilization of geographic information, GIS systems and other related technologies. The term length is three years.
 
North Carolina Home Inspector Licensure Board
Waverly Sawyer (Camden County) – Sawyer is the president of Sawyer & Associates Realty and Construction. This is a reappointment to the board.

The board's purpose is to safeguard the public health, safety and welfare and to protect the public from being harmed by unqualified persons. The title “Licensed Home Inspector” is regulated by providing for the licensure and regulation of those who perform home inspections. The term length is four years.
 
Structural Pest Control Committee
Phillip Clegg (Durham County) – Clegg is the president of Clegg’s Termite & Pest Control LLC.

The committee approves applications for structural pest control licenses, holds public hearings for the purpose of adopting new and/or amendments to rules and regulations, denies, revokes or suspends structural pest control licenses, certifies applicators' cards or registered technicians' cards and assesses civil penalties. The term length is four years.  
 

North Carolina Inmate Grievance Resolution Board
James Foster (Cabarrus County) – Foster is the Judicial District 19-A state bar councilor.
The board investigates matters involving grievances or complaints that are filed by prison inmates. The term length is four years.
 
North Carolina Global TransPark Authority  
Mark Lesnau (Wayne County) – Lesnau is the president and CEO of North Carolina Community Federal Credit Union in Goldsboro.

The board is an independent state agency that was created to plan, develop and operate the North Carolina Global TransPark. The term length is four years.
