RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - A solution to a real world challenge in the agriculture industry has earned
Guilford County Schools’ third place in a national competition.
 
Team AeroHead from STEM Early College NC A & T competed in the The Real World Design Challenge, which focused on Unmanned Aerial Systems and precision agriculture -- specifically, the efficient application of pesticide to control local crop predation.

Teams from 19 states competed for top honors.
 
Teams were tasked with engineering, math, and operational challenges in meeting the competition's goals. They were required to produce an 80-page report defending their project.
