Jeff Orrock, warning coordination meteorologist at the National Weather Center in Raleigh joined Rick Martinez to discuss Weather Service operations and how Orrock got into the business of meteorology. They talked about the seemingly record-breaking cold Winter North Carolina recently experienced and how the numbers actually show Winter 2009-2010 as being the 14th coldest winter in the last several decades. They also discussed hurricane season, tornado warnings and what it's like making important decisions when severe weather is approaching. |
