Linda Hayes, secretary of the state’s Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Department, tells host Barlow Herget about the success of her agency in keeping young offenders from becoming repeat criminals.  She says her department will become part of a larger Public Safety cabinet office and acknowledges her own position may be abolished in the government reorganization and Republican budget cuts.  She also describes her recent experience with the deadly tornadoes that swept through the state including over her home in Dunn.
