This afternoon, the Erica Smith campaign announced a series of virtual town halls that'll be held through the end of May. The series of events, titled "Policy is Personal" will highlight Senator Smith's policy positions as well as the ways in which her personal story connects to and has informed them. Attendees will be invited to share stories of their own

"Working people deserve true representation. Representation is about policy being personal. We need more people like Jamal Bowman who have seen the ways in which our schools, while underfunded, can still make all the difference in keeping our children from slipping through the cracks. We need more people like Charles Booker who know what it is to have to ration your insulin. We need more people like Ayanna Presley who have struggled with student debt. Because it’s personal to them, they’re leading the fight for a better education system, for Medicare for all, and for canceling student debt. While policy may feel abstract to politicians who've never struggled a day in their life, for people like me, people who know what it means to have your child's illness bring your family to the brink of bankruptcy and have lived our lives on roads that have never been paved, policy is personal," said Smith.

The "Policy is Personal" series will lead into the end of May and will be followed by the campaign officially kicking off the "100 Counties in 100 Days" tour.
