RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - After a year of infighting, the Republican Party's governing body has fired Chairman Hasan Harnett and replaced him with former chairman Robin Hayes.

The vote of the Executive Committee came Saturday following an hours-long deliberation over Harnett's performance in the job. Allegations of mismanagement, failure to execute the party's plan of organization, and an attempt to hack the party's computer system culminated in a verdict of "gross inefficiency."

Harnett did not attend the meeting.

The party will hold its annual convention next week in Greensboro.

Hayes led the party during its successful run in 2012.
