RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Four people are seeking a seat on the North Carolina Supreme Court currently held by Robert Edmunds.

A primary on June 7 will narrow the field to two people who will face off in the fall general election.

Edmunds originally thought he would be the only name on the fall ballot, where voters would vote to retain him, or not retain  him. A state Superior Court panel of three judges ruled the "retention" election cannot go forward.

The candidates are:

Robert Edmunds
Michael Morgan
Daniel Robertson
Sabra Faires

Faires is the attorney who challenged the retention election in court.
