RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - One day following an overwhelming victory at the polls for a $2 billion infrastructure bond package, its chief champion, Gov. Pat McCrory, lauded North Carolinians for their vision and support of infrastructure improvements.

“The people of North Carolina sent a strong message to the nation that working together can make a difference,” he said. “This was a bi-partisan effort with Republicans and Democrats from the mountains to the coast, both in the legislative and executive branches, coming together to accomplish something that will have a significant impact for the next generation.”

The governor made stops at Jordan Lake State Park, North Carolina A&T University, and Central Piedmont Community College.

The bond passed 2 to 1.
