RALEIGH, SGRToday.com) - Women dominate the pool of registered voters in North Carolina, making up 54 percent of the registrations. Forty-five percent are male, and 1 percent is listed as "not specified."

The data comes from the state Board of Election.

The racial makeup of the voter pool is:

71 percent white
22 percent African-American
6 percent Multi-racial/other
1 percent American Indian/Alaska Native

Democrats account for 41 percent of registrations, Republicans have 30 percent, Unaffiliated hold 28 percent, and Libertarians account for .4 percent.
