RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Just days after the official filing period for re-election begins, Lt. Gov. Dan Forest will kick off his run for a second term.

An email from the Forest campaign invites supporters to the Dec. 7 evening event at the Guilford County Republican Party Headquarters.

Forest narrowly defeated Democrat Linda Coleman in 2012. Coleman has said she intends to run again.
