RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Progressive Democrat Deborah Ross, a former Wake County state legislators, has announced she will seek her party's nomination for the Senate seat now held by Republican Richard Burr.
Ross made the announcement in a video released overnight Tuesday.
"I don't have every answer, and I won't promise to make all problems immediately disappear. But what I do have is a strong faith in America's promise to make people's lives better," Ross said in her campaign video.
Spring Lake Mayor Chris Rey is also seeking the Democratic nomination.
Burr has a primary challenger. Greensboro resident Larry Holmquist is seeking the Republican Party's nomination. He says Burr isn't conservative enough. He says his top priority would be national defense.
