RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - "It's time for a governor who believes that we should measure our state by the success of regular working folks." With that declaration, Democratic Attorney General Roy Cooper made his campaign to unseat Gov. Pat McCrory official.

At Nash Community College, Cooper told supporters the state needs new priorities and that Republican McCrory has taken the state down the wrong path.

Cooper's daughters opened his announcement event, recounting their love for, and experience with, their father. The candidate also talked about his late parents.

Cooper's website is roycooper.com.

He was elected Attorney General in 2000 and is serving his fourth term.
