RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Greensboro Coliseum was packed full Sunday night as self-described socialist Bernie Sanders rallied Democrats who see the Vermont senator as a credible alternative to Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential race.

The coliseum seats 5,000. Some were forced to stand.

Sanders has now topped Clinton in several polls of key primary states.

Sanders continued to pound on capitalism as the root of the country's problems. “They are sick and tired of establishment economics and they want real change in this country," he said during the rally.

North Carolina's presidential primary will likely be moved up to March 15, 2016. It has traditionally been held in May but legislative leaders are seeking a way to make North Carolina an even more valuable prize.
