RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Elon University's recent poll about views of issues before the U.S. Supreme Court provides a window into the ideological views of registered voters in North Carolina.

Slightly more than 35 percent of North Carolina residents who opted in for Elon's online survey described themselves as conservative to a certain degree: 17.1 percent conservative, 9.9 percent slightly conservative, and 8.2 percent extremely conservative.

Those numbers are larger than the U.S. population as a whole, according to the survey: 14.4 percent conservative, 9.6 percent slightly conservative, and 6.9 percent extremely conservative.
