RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) -  U.S. Army veteran and former U.S. Senate candidate Heather Grant will seek the Republican nomination for North Carolina Insurance Commissiner.

Grant made the announcement Friday.

She is from Wilkes county and is a nurse practitioner.

Democrat Wayne Goodwin holds the seat today.
