RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Democrat Beth Wood says she will seek a third term as North Carolina's state Auditor in 2016.

According to the Raleigh News & Observer, Wood's statement says she has the credentials and experience that has proven effective for taxpayers for six years. "I promise to continue to be undeterred in our effort to be respected by the taxpayers and government leaders."

Although of the party that is out of power in the state, Wood appears to enjoy a good relationship with Republican leaders and the governor.

No word yet on who may seek the office on the Republican side of the aisle.
