RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - They're in the minority in the General Assembly, but Democratic state legislators are even more unpopular than the Republicans who have control of both chambers.

Public Policy Polling's February 11 poll comes with this analysis:

"As the General Assembly kicks off another session, it continues to be quite unpopular with North Carolinians. Only 23% of voters say they approve of the job it's doing to 51% who disapprove. It's reached the point though where the minority Democrats (34/48) have even worse favorability numbers than the Republican majority (37/46). The main reason for that is the Republican base is happier with its party leadership (74/12 favorability) than the Democrats (57/23) are with theirs. That big gap is a relatively new development."
