RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - The 2014 midterms are behind us, and 2016 polling has officially begun, and the results look good for U.S. Sen. Richard Burr, who will face the voters in two years.

Public Policy Polling's new survey data shows Burr, a Republican, beating all three Democratic challengers that pollsters asked North Carolinians to consider in hypothetical matchups with Burr.

When asked who they would vote for if former Sen. Kay Hagan were on the ballot, 46 percent said Burr and 43 percent said Hagan.

State Treasurer Janet Cowell was also placed on the ballot by the polling firm. She also lost to Burr, 44 to 38 percent. The result was the same for a Burr versus Anthony Foxx race: Burr 44, Foxx 38.
