RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Fourteen midterm election contests are now being recounted across North Carolina, according to the State Board of Elections. The deadline to request a recount closed Tuesday at the end of business.

Counties have until Thursday to finalize totals in a recount between Cheri Beasley and Mike Robinson, who are competing for a seat on the state Supreme Court.  This is the only statewide race that hasn't yet been settled.

Additional recounts in county-level contests include a race for the State Senate, clerk of court, and board of education, among others.

The State Board will meet next Tuesday to certify results for all federal, judicial, and multicounty contests.
