RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - As the Republicans continue to celebrate their wave election victory, voters are skeptical the new GOP powerhouse and President Obama can work together.

Rasmussen Reports finds that 73 percent of likely voters lack the confidence about a collaboration. Just 24 percent are at least somewhat confident.

Many voters also had a negative reaction to President Obama's post-election news conference. Just 41 percent said he set the right tone in his remarks. Just one in three (35 percent) said he did.

The polling data comes as the GOP celebrates yet another U.S. Senate seat takeover. Officials in Alaska have declared Dan Sullivan the winner over incumbent Democrat Marka Begich with a margin of victory of roughly 8,000 votes.
