RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Charlotte hosted the 2012 Democratic National Convention, but on Saturday, the Queen City will host a woman many believe could be the Democratic nominee for president in 2016. 

 

Hillary Clinton, former First Lady and former Secretary of State, will rally with embattled Sen. Kay Hagan as early voting kicks into gear in North Carolina.

 

A new Civitas Institute poll finds Republican House Speaker Thom Tillis leading Hagan by 1 percentage point. Most other polls find the race a dead heat or with Hagan ahead by 1 point.

 

Mitt Romney, former Republican presidential candidate, will campaign for Tillis next week.

 

Libertarian Sean Haugh is also in the race. His impact on both candidates remains unknown. He is pulling as much as 5 percent in some polls.
