RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Democrat Laura Fjeld hopes she can snag the 6th District Congressional seat away from Republicans in November, and this week she marked the one-year anniversary of her candidacy with a fundraising email.

Fjeld faces Republican Mark Walker for the chance to succeed retiring veteran Congressman Howard Coble.

The Fjeld email reads:
-------------------------

Dear Friend,

One year ago today, I announced my candidacy for the US Congress.

Over the past year, we’ve had our first endorsement, contribution, volunteer, TV ad and victory on Primary night.  Supporters have grown from a few dozen to thousands over the past 365 days and it wouldn’t have been possible without each and everyone one of you.

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.  I am humbled to have the support of so many people with diverse interests and backgrounds engaged in our efforts.

Now as we look forward with fewer than 85 days until Election Day, your support and help are more critical than ever to making sure we finish what we started.  I hope you will help me celebrate our milestone with a $36.50 contribution to pay for 100 pieces of literature or a $365 contribution for a TV spot to help us win on Election Day.

Again, thank you for your invaluable support.

Kindest regards,
