RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - A national survey finds that 54 percent of Likely U.S. Voters say the government should regulate how much money individuals can give to political campaigns. The poll results come in the wake of last week's U.S. Supreme Court ruling that lifted the aggregate limitations on donations.

Nearly three in ten voters told Rasmussen pollsters they don't think the government should regulate the amount, while while 16 percent are undecided.

Despite that, wrote Rasmussen in its reporting of the results: "But they also still think it’s a candidate’s views and not campaign contributions that provide the winning edge in an election."

The April 3/4 survey tallied responses from 1,000 likely voters.

The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points.
