RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Just hours after American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken announced he will try to oust Republican Renee Ellmers from the 2nd District seat in Congress, the North Carolina Republican Party pushed back against the Raleigh native.

The GOP issued the following news release.
-------------------------------------

Where Does American Idol Runner-Up Clay Aiken Stand On The Issues?

Raleigh, NC – Today, former American Idol and Celebrity Apprentice runner-up Clay Aiken announced he’s running for Congress, moving news coverage of the race to the entertainment section at a media outlet near you.

While we now know Aiken is officially in the race, the residents of North Carolina’s Second District have no clue where Aiken stands on important issues and whether he’s going to be an automatic vote for President Obama and Nancy Pelosi’s liberal agenda.

To help Aiken introduce himself to voters, here are some questions he should answer:
Does Aiken support Obamacare?
Will Aiken vote for Nancy Pelosi as House Speaker?
Did Aiken vote for President Obama?
On what issues, if any, does Aiken differ from Nancy Pelosi and President Obama?
What is Aiken’s position on gun control and the Second Amendment?
Is Aiken pro-choice or pro-life?
Does Aiken support a Balanced Budget Amendment?
What makes Aiken more qualified to be a U.S. Congressman than his Democrat primary opponent, former Bev Perdue Commerce Secretary Keith Crisco?
