RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Rob Coffman has been fired from his position of Forsyth County Elections Director by State Board of Elections Director Kim Strach. The dismissal comes following an investigation into a recount Coffman conducted for a seat on the Tobaccoville Village Council,  according to the Winston-Salem Journal.

Strach's report on the investigation was detailed in a nine-page letter sent to members of the county elections board. She concluded Coffman demonstrated "an apparent disregard for ensuring an accurate result" to the race in question.

Strach contined that she believed Coffman could not fulfill his job duties and "with the deepest regret, I have no other option but to terminate Robert Coffman as the director" of the local board.

Coffman told the newspaper he would not comment until he investigated options for an appeal and that he was disappointed in the ruling.
