RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - This weekend's American Bar Association Annual Meeting will be one to remember for Mark Martin, Senior Associate Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court. Martin said in a statement that he will become chair of the Association's Judicial Division.
Martin's statement included a comment from former Chief Justice Burley Mitchell.
“Justice Martin has been recognized by his peers across the country as one of the nation’s preeminent appellate jurists and his election to this position is a tremendous honor for him and a source of pride for North Carolina.”
Justice Martin has served on the Supreme Court since 1999.
He is seeking the position of Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in the 2014 election.
