RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - The two major candidates for North Carolina governor have agreed to three televised debates in October.

Lt. Governor Walter Dalton, the Democratic nominee and former Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory, the Republican nominee will share the stage Oct. 3 and 16 for live debates broadcast from UNC-TV in Research Triangle Park.

WRAL-TV, North Carolina Wesleyan College, and the Rocky Mount Chamber of Commerce will hostDalton and McCrory Oct. 24 on the college campus in Rocky Mount.

Libertarian candidate Barbara Howe, whose name will appear on the ballot, was not invited to participate. Howe told SGRToday.com's Donna Martinez that organizers had not discussed the debates with her and that she plans to reach out to Dalton and McCrory about the issue.
