RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - The Mitt Romney campaign announced today that the former Massachusetts governor will bring his campaign to North Carolina this weekend.

An e-mail announcement said the bus tour, dubbed "The Romney Plan For A Stronger Middle Class," will begin in Virginia on Saturday, August 11 and arrive in North Carolina on Sunday, August 12.

Specific stops and times are not yet available.

The Romney campaign then will take the bus tour to Florida and Ohio.

Romney is expected to announce his vice presidential running mate any day. On August 27, the Republican National Convention  gets underway in Tampa, Florida. Romney is expected to accept the party's nomination for president on the final evening.

Last week, First Lady Michelle Obama campaigned for her husband in Greensboro and Raleigh.

Both presidential campaigns have multiple offices across North Carolina as they seek the state's 15 electoral votes, which many strategists see as pivotal to both candidates.

Then-Sen. Obama won North Carolina in 2008 by just 14,000 votes.
