The Raleigh News and Observer reports a Mecklenburg legislator, Sen. Joel Ford, who is also a Charlotte mayoral candidate, has introduced a bill to repeal HB2, a law that mandates that transgender individual use public restrooms of their biological gender. The law invalidated a Charlotte ordinance allowing transgenders to use public restroom and locker rooms of their gender identity.

SB332 would repeal HB2 and establish and prohibit cities and towns from passing bathroom access ordinances until 30 days after the state's legislative session ends.

After numerous attempts to repeal HB2 have failed, the paper reported Governor Roy Cooper said he would consider a moratorium as part of an effort to repeal HB2, a law he said has cast a shadow over North Carolina.
