Raleigh - Bridget Chisholm of Guilford County has been appointed to the North Carolina State Banking Commission by the governor. 
 
The North Carolina State Banking Commission is authorized to supervise, direct, and review the exercise by the Commissioner of all powers, duties and functions vested in or exercised by the Commissioner under the banking laws of this State
 
Chisholm is Managing Partner of BWC Consulting, a firm that specializes in economic development financing and higher education advisory and consulting. As a 30-year corporate and entrepreneurial executive, she brings innovative, bold and practical insight to structuring public-private financing deals for colleges and universities as well as units of local government. She completed the state’s first design-build and New Market Tax Credit (NMTC) financing with Edgecombe County for its community college, which opened for class in January 2016. Since 2008, her innovation and entrepreneurial acumen have led to over $500 million in multi-layered and NMTC financing transactions, restructuring and developments in the midst of the nation’s economic downturn.
 
Additionally, she founded BWC Capital, LLC. Her experience also includes leading a $20 million, 700-employee, multi-unit restaurant franchise. She holds a B.A. in Economics from Wake Forest University and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.
