RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - The General Assembly has approved Robert Schurmeier to be the next leader of the State Bureau of Investigation. Wednesday's vote was unanimous.
 
Schurmeier fills the seat of B.W. Collier, who retired last month. He was nominated by Gov. Pat McCrory.
 
Schurmeier served for three decades with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and also has 10 years of experience in the private sector.
