RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - If you want to see the western residence of the governor, your chance is around the corner. A spring open house has been scheduled for Saturday, May 14, 2016.

“Just off the patio, is an ever changing painting of the rolling mountains and expansive sky; a view we want to share. Inside the residence, we invite you to take in the arts, décor and history," said First Lady Ann McCrory in a statement.

The residence is at 45 Patton Mountain Road in Asheville. The open is free from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Visitors to the open house can enjoy homemade refreshments on the spacious patio overlooking a newly constructed fire pit area and breathtaking views of Mt. Pisgah, downtown Asheville and beyond.

The 6,000 square foot residence and open pavilion situated atop 18 acres of wooded grounds serves as a retreat for North Carolina governors and their families and houses government officials visiting the area on state business.
