RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Gov. Pat McCrory's office says he will unveil on Friday his proposed adjustments to the Fiscal Year 2016-17 general operating budget for the state.
The General Assembly reconvenes on Monday for the "short" legislative session, with the No. 1 priority as negotiatign and agreeing upon the revenue and spending plan for the year that begins July 1.
In a tweet Thursday, the governor's office said the budget will:
-- increase average teacher pay to $50,000
-- improve mental health services
-- reward state employees
The current operating plan is $21.7 billion.
