RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - An audit of the North Carolina Department of Transportation-Divison of Motor Vehicles- License and Theft Bureau has revealed a conflict of interest for an agency employee.
State Auditor Beth Wood's office provided the following summary of the audit.
"Investigators determined that a DMV Assistant District Supervisor - a law enforcement officer - sold and serviced fire extinguishers to some of the same automotive dealerships for which the Supervisor had regulatory oversight. The Supervisor’s undisclosed business activity concealed a conflict of interest."
