RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - The first meeting of the new Mental Health and Substance Use Task Force will convene Tuesday in Raleigh, with Gov. Pat McCrory on hand to address the members.

The Task Force was created to provide recommendations to the Governor and General Assembly on how best to address the problems of mental health and substance use among North Carolinians.

A report is expected next spring.

The task force is co-chaired by N.C. Supreme Court Chief Justice Mark D. Martin and Health and Human Service Secretary Rick Brajer.

Mental health issues are a key priority for Gov. McCrory.
