RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - State Auditor Beth Wood's office has released the results of an audit of the Division of Services for the Blind-Businss Enterprise Program -- a division of the state Health and Human Services department.

Report Summary:

The results of our audit disclosed items that are considered reportable under Government Auditing Standards. Specifically, the Department of Health and Human Service’s Business Enterprise Program (BEP or Program) did not have goals and measures to determine whether it was meeting the vocational needs of the legally blind. Furthermore, ineffective oversight of the Program increased the risk of facility mismanagement. The Department Health and Human Services generally agreed with our findings and recommendations.
