RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - A four-decades old procedure for registering vehicles in North Carolina will change as of this week, saving taxpayers money in the process, according to the Department of Motor Vehicles.

The state will dump its two-sticker approach and adopt a single grey sticker that will carry the expiring month and year. Currently, vehicle owners must affix two stickers to the license plate -- one in the left corner and one in the right corner.

No details were provided on the amount of cost savings to taxpayers because of  the simplified procedure.
