RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Avian flue has already hit poultry in 15 states and North Carolina officials believe it's it will make its way to our state later this year.

Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler told a Senate committee this week that he expects it to "spread through wild populations of poultry and waterfowl."

But, he said, state experts will be ready, as they've been helping Minnesota fight the effects of the diseases.
