RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Five North Carolinians are poised to take seats on four of the state's boards and commissions.

The appointments, made by Gov. Pat McCrory, were announced this week.

They are:


North Carolina Capital Facilities Finance Agency Board of Directors
Edward Shipley III (New Hanover County) - Shipley works for Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP, with a focus on commercial real estate transactions and real estate finance.

The board provides the benefits of tax-exempt financing to private institutions of higher education in North Carolina. The term length is four years.

 
North Carolina State Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners
Wyatt Jones Jr. (Forsyth County) - Jones has over 40 years of experience owning his own hair salon, Styles by Mr. Jones Hair Studio, with more than 50 years of experience in the hair industry.

Abby Seats (Wake County) - Seats is the operations manager at Lux Salon.

The board approves new cosmetic art schools, adopts rules for them and inspects them, among other duties. The term length is three years.
 
North Carolina State Board of Refrigeration Examiners
Brad Cook (Forsyth County) - Cook has been in the refrigeration business for more than 40 years. He is currently a business unit leader at ACR Supply Company.   

The board licenses refrigeration contractors. The term length is seven years.

 
North Carolina State Social Services Commission
Thomas Flores Jr. (Wayne County) - Flores is a deputy sheriff and detective with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.

The commission adopts rules and regulations for the conduct of the state's social service programs and has the power to adopt, amend and rescind rules and regulations. The term length is four years.
