RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - The State  Labor Department's reimbursement of $9,400 in travel expenses has been called out by the state Auditor as a violation of state regulations. The audit was released Monday.

The audit focused on the Wage and Hour Deputy Administrator's work location, which see deemed to be Lexington, but the job is technically based in Wake County. The money reimbursed for the commute between the two locations.

State Labor Commissioner Cherie Berry says the position was tagged as "telework" and that the audit is misleading.
