RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV), in conjunction with multiple agencies including Fort Bragg, is extending its military truck driving training program.

“This program has proven to be the positive experience for our military members leaving the armed forces that we had hoped,” said DMV Commissioner Kelly Thomas in a statement. “We are excited to be able to extend this educational series and continue to offer this outstanding opportunity to North Carolina’s service men and women.”

The program, which began late last year, recently completed its first six sessions. More than 70 former military members have graduated and earned their commercial driver license certifications. The extension of the training program adds two additional sessions and NCDMV is seeking federal grant funding for an additional year.
