Tuesday, September 2, 2014
NC Commission of Indian Affairs – The Culture/Religion Committee will meet from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. by teleconference. The purpose of the meeting is to review aspects of the American Indian Directory, the 2014 Indian Heritage Month Celebration plans and its poster design. NC Commission of Indian Affairs – The Commission will meet from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the NCAE Building, 700 S. Salisbury St., Raleigh. The Commission will conduct its annual meeting, elect officers, appoint committees and welcome new/returning members who will be sworn-in by Supreme Court Justice Paul Newby. The Commission will receive committee reports that include an update on the Tuscarora Nation of NC petition for state recognition. Historically Underutilized Businesses – The Governor’s Advisory Council on Small and HUB Businesses will meet from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Innovation Center, DENR Building, 217 W. Jones St., Raleigh. The purpose of the meeting is to carry out the mandates of Executive Order #24: identifying opportunities for small and HUB firms to do business with Cabinet agencies; identifying barriers that inhibit access to those opportunities; and make recommendations to the Governor.
