RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - The state Board of Agriculture is preparing to implement a provision of the proposed new state budget and is tentatively planning to do so on Monday, August 4.

A news releases from the state agency said that if the General Assembly approves the state budget this weekend, the Board of Agriculture will meet by conference call Monday to vote on a fee schedule for forest management plans.

The plans currently are free, but the state budget being considered by the General Assembly requires fees for them, according to the release.

The board will consider a fee schedule that includes a base fee of $45 and a per acre charge of $2 to $3, depending on the type of plan.

The call will be rescheduled if the legislature does not approve the budget plan by Monday afternoon.
